If you’ve ever been a client at Heather's Nail Boutique, you’ve probably noticed a different vibe as soon as you walk in. You'll find more of us smiling here than you will at another place. Unlike many salons, you'll notice team members helping each other to stay on schedule and deliver a better experience for you. In fact, it’s not uncommon for you to receive services from one, two, or even three people before you leave. It’s all part of our purpose of making your day. Behold! You are about to learn our secret to happiness!
Are you ready? Here it is: We don’t pay commission, not on service sales and not on product sales. You know how you dread going to some places because as soon as you walk in the door, you have a salesperson drop off the ceiling or leap from behind a large potted plant? We know the feeling, too, and we don’t like it. So, we designed our system to be different and more enjoyable. How? You ask? We compensate our staff by salary, a very nice salary and benefits like vacation pay and a 401k. This means no matter what’s going on, whether they are booked or not, they are getting paid.
By compensating our staff on what’s known as a “Team Based” system, we can function more efficiently and provide more flexibility for our clients. Can't get in with your favorite technician, or maybe want to try someone else? Go for it! We don’t mind. We actually encourage it! The entire focus of our team is to ensure every guest’s day is being made. This even comes down to products. When our staff is recommending a product, it’s because they truly believe it’s the best product for you, not because they’re trying to make commission on the sale. The same goes for services too! So next time you feel like switching it up a little, just let us know. After all, variety is the spice of life! TEAMWORK
Heather is our fearless leader and creator of Heather's Nail Boutique. She has been in the beauty business since 1998 and has owned her business in Sandpoint since 2007. She has done nails for more than 20 years and built her salon around training and continuous education. She no longer works behind the desk taking clients. Instead, she is focused on running the salon full-time and on her apprenticeship program that enables students to earn their nail technician license and become a member of the team. Her focus has always been on creating consistently beautiful nails no matter whom you may see in the salon. We work as a team and encourage clients to try different nail techs or whichever one works best for their schedule. We call it team service and it is what we thrive on. We encourage clients to get to know all of us!
Dalayna has been doing nails since 2017. She was the first graduate of Heather's apprenticeship program. She is known for her detailed cuticle work and she is always working on improving her technique. Her favorite thing about doing nails is doing great transformations on new clients. Especially ones who have never had gel. She loves being a nail tech. It allows her to be creative and create beautiful structured nails. She loves to continue to grow and learn especially with such a talented team of supportive women. She grew up in Spokane and moved to Priest River when she was a teen. She lives there with her amazingly supportive husband and 3 beautiful daughters. She also has 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 sugar gliders, and several fish tanks. She is a hobbyist and loves learning, creating, and perfecting different crafts. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and hiking.
Callie joined Heather’s apprenticeship program in November 2019, and because of the 2020 shutdowns, she had to wait to be licensed until July 2020. She is known to her clients as a great listener and meticulous when it comes to her work, striving for beautiful strong nails that her clients are elated with. She tends to be the least talkative of the group, providing a calm experience where her clients can unwind from their hectic lives, however, she is always up for a friendly chat as well.
Both she and her husband grew up in Sandpoint but left for about six years before returning again ten years ago. She spent most of her time being a stay-at-home mom to their two girls until the girls were both school-aged. When not doing nails or running the girls around she is usually found either reading or trying to get her stories written out. The three cats and dog are always nearby, if not on top of her.

She loves spending time w/family, camping, road trips, playing cards, music, cosmetology, travel, and animals. She is happy and goofy and she loves to laugh.
Hailey graduated from Heather's apprenticeship program in December of 2022. One of her favorite things about doing nails is the precision and detail it takes to make them look beautiful. She really enjoys doing French manicures. They are very satisfying for her to create. She tends to be quiet when she is doing nails, and it's because she concentrates on making your nails perfect. She gets more talkative the more she gets to know you. She is a very down-to-earth person who enjoys art. She grew up in Bonners Ferry and now she lives in Sandpoint.
